I also found that people i don't know link to my site...which is pretty cool. :) hehehehe. thanks to those who have done that. i'll check out your blogs now that i know you know who i am. ;)|W|P|113069719823428658|W|P|what the heck|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/31/2005 03:11:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Hi there, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely comment about my dish cloth. Sadly it's not my own design but it is a freebie I found here : http://www.knittingknonsense.com/flowercloth.html There are lots more there too so go wild and crazy! Sue11/01/2005 08:24:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|That is COOL! There are so many worse things to be besides a "blow my nose honker"... right? HAHAHA!11/02/2005 12:59:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|through my sitemeter, i notice that random people that i don't know have linked my blog to theirs too. kinda makes you feel like a mini-celebrity.. haha (i know i know, i'm a dork). but it's still cool.. haha10/30/2005 03:24:00 AM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|hahaha. i played photographer at my friend's wedding today. i took so many pics...i feel so weird about it. but you can never take too many pictures at a wedding right? my friend couldn't afford a professional photographer...so i said i would take alot of pics for her from my point of view. it ended up that her brother-in-law and myself ended up being the photographers that day. it was kind of cool. i ran around....i got in people's face...and no one looked at me WEIRD. they just thought "oh she's the photographer". and during the ceremony...i squatted right in the aisle RIGHT IN FRONT and no one was whispering about what an idiot i was. i had permission. ;) muahahahah!
I did a wedding slideshow for the couple which also was good. the mothers were sobbing. man...it's a good feeling when something you do brings up emotions like that. hAHAHAH.
Do you see it? it looks like the needle is just in the yarn
Check closer...
That's right. my needle is broken. it snapped like a plastic fork today as i was in the middle of knitting. i've broken many plastic forks before...so i was all 'ehh...big deal'. but then i realized...it's my KNITTING NEEEDLE!! AAAAH! MJ from Simpatico told me that this is a recently common problem and that Bryspun will replace the needles free of charge. SWEEEEET.|W|P|113066180406500638|W|P|i'm a lady of many talents....|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/25/2005 07:59:00 PM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|I've been working on a fox hat for a friend of a friend. My friend told his friend that i would do the hat cheap for her. b/c on this website, it's like $60! when he showed me the website, i got cocky and said "MAN I COULD DO THAT FOR LESS THAN $30!!' i guess my friend took that to offer that price to his friend. well, his ex-student. So i talked to her for a bit and found her to be a lovely girl. and a poor college student. it didn't take me long to do the hat. the hardest part was positioning the ears so they didn't look all wonky. and i got it done a couple of nights ago. blocked it, showed her pics...she loves it. so it is now available for your eyes. hahaha
Pattern used: Foxy Hat at Platypus DreamsYarn used: Wool Ease (not even a full skein of reddish-brown, bits of black and creme colors)
Needle Size: 8 (circs)
You can get the pattern at Platypus Dreams if you want. :) you know what's reallly weird. This woman who is selling knit hats online...she is a friend of a friend of mine! it's a small world! she makes a hat called the Choo-Choo bear hat. i saw this pattern and i thought "that's like randy's comic!" and what do you know...it's a hat based on a character from his web comic! i ddin't realize his web comic was so big. it's been a couple of years since i talked to him....so i thought it was just crazy that i came across it in this way. :) If you are intersted, check it out. it's a bit of a dark and demented comic. ;)|W|P|113028898507363385|W|P|Foxy...so foxy.|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/26/2005 09:23:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|That hat is ADORABLE!10/26/2005 10:18:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Foxy lady, foxy momma! I hate TomKat w/ a passion. I think it's weird and retarded how Tom CRuise is jumping around like a monkey proclaiming his love for someone who is young enough to be his daughter. ;) i never really found him hot or all that attractive...but now..i find him repulsive. and all the media attention they get is encouraging them to be more bizarre.
what brings this up? I was reading an article on MSN today and i read that Katie Holmes is preparing for baby. how you might ask?
"In preparation, Holmes said she and Cruise are putting together a baby room and that she's learning how to knit."
i no lie!! Proof is HERE on the article!
she doesn't look like she is glowing to me. she looks like she is sick and getting ready to puke form morning sickness. LOL
I fear w/ this declaration of her preparing to knit...a burst of enthusiasm (not like there isn't one now) will come forth from the little morons of the planet that have to copy celebrity life. I fear i will run into these people at various stores or places where i knit and people will come up to me and tell me "Hey. I know how to do that too." Good for you, bucko. Good for you. I get alot of that now. I'll be knitting at a dr's office or something..a.nd someone will come up to me and say "i know how to do that, except my stick has a hook at the end of it and i only use one stick." sounds like you got a great handle on what you do there. GOod job!
I think i'm grouchy today. LOL.|W|P|112992869106264224|W|P|I hate TomKat|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/21/2005 04:16:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|haha.. that's so funny. i hate TomKat with a passion too. I used to feel sorry for katie, but now i'm so sick of her too. esp with all that scientology stuff too (no offense to anyone out there who is a scientologist). blech on both of them.10/24/2005 12:07:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Ha! Go on with your snarky self!
Okay, so do you think with her learning to knit (which in what way is preparing for a baby?!), do you think she'll knit up the Alien illusions scarf from early Knitty? Ya' know, as an offering to the Scientology folks?10/24/2005 06:06:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|OK, I guess I'm behind the times but I said the exact same thing about TomKat today on my blog. I hate the whole media circus about this ridiculous couple. Just because he's Tom Cruise and a self-righteous celebrity, we have to say it's OK for a this older middle-aged man to impregnate this girl who just graduated from Dawson's Creek? He's a control freak.10/19/2005 10:54:00 PM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|Man. my allergies are so freaking bad. i haven't gone for allergy shots in weeks...mainly b/c they are expensive and make me feel bad. so my mom commanded me to stop doing them. and it's starting to catch up on me now. i have a throbbing headache. i know it's all allergy related.
This morning i woke up late for class. sigh...so i took my time getting ready. I looked in the mirror...and i had the biggest EYE BOOGER i have ever seen. it was so big, i picked it out of my eye. not just wiped it out...i PICKED IT OUT. it was like i was picking a booger out of my nose! AAAH! so big! i was so amazed at it's size..i'm surprised i didn't take a picture of it. i was kind of grossed out. hahaah. but amazed at the same time.....eye boogers....who knew they could get THAT big.
I finished that little sock yarn sweater for a baby. it didn't come out as i hoped it would. i do'nt know if it was ME...or if the pattern was jacked up. i'm betting it was me. sighh...please don't judge me. ;)
EDIT -- I ended up taking out that 3 needle bind off and finishing that seam that bothered me by using a kitchner stitch. i was much much much happier w/ the result. Pattern used: Knit Picks baby sweater patternYarn used: Opal Sock yarn -- Rainforest collection - Fish colorNeedle size: size 1
I'm working on a toddlers poncho for my friend's daughter. she asked me this weekend if i could make one for her kid. i coudn't say no. normally, i wouldn't do it...but i'm in the mood to make a poncho for a cute little girl. hahaha.
I think i'm goign to make this one...w/ this yarn too:
this weekend my baby brother was in town for a wedding we had to attend for an old family friend. it was a good time. i miss having my brother around. we are polar opposites...but we get along so well. so we hit IKEA this weekend. hahaha. we were so excited. we saw that blue buliding as i was riding on the service road to Tolllway (i didn't have my tolltag and had no change...). as we came up to that blue building...we both starting singing "IKEA IKEA IKEA!!!" we were there for like 3 hours. i bought new bowls and soup spoons. tee-hee. he got a dresser that he has been wanting and some linens. good times.
We went to see Domino on Fri night. i don't think i've seen a movie this bad in a while. i was hoping it would be entertaining....not the best...but entertaning. i freaking fell asleep. i haven't done that in a lonnnnng time. i rarely fall asleep in movies since i'm paying money to watch them. but man....blech.
The wedding was alot of fun. i mean...as fun as a wedding can be. saw alot of peeps.... had a good time dancing. the food was only so so. this is one of the only pics of me at the wedding...usually i'm snapping away w/ my camera. so i'm rarely in pics.
dont' we look like it's hot outside? hahahahaha.|W|P|112978071005836886|W|P|allergies suck!|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/20/2005 01:29:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Wow, I think the baby sweater looks great! 'course I think it would look even better on my boy, but that's just me. Eeeeeeeeeeeew on the eye booger!!! Maybe you should have taken a photo or something. You could have been in the guiness book of world records!!!10/13/2005 11:38:00 PM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|Despite all the crazy drama this week, i HAVE been knitting. hehee. i was working on that baby placket sweater that is in Last Minute gifts. I'm making it out of the Rainforest Opal sock yarn.....color FISH. :)
Turns out, the pattern is all wrong!! so i got to the part after you join the sleeeves and stuff...no GOOD! i got mad and ripped it all out and found a lovely pattern on knit picks for free. :)
Isn't it a cute pattern? it's going pretty fast. i'll post pics once i'm done. it's knitting up nicely. at first, i didn't like how the yarn was striping, but i like it now. :) Click here to download the free pattern!
Look what i got in the mail today.
the first thing is a touch-less soap dispenser! it's HUGE!! i thought it would be small. NOOo..that thing is GIGANTIC!!
Yess...i actually played HK dominoes. I thought the dots were on the other side. i was mistaken. haha. it's just the faces on the dominoes! that's it!! how weird is that? how can you scream "DOMINO" w/ a double Hello kitty red bow face? hahahah
For those of you who know me...you know i'm scrrrrred of a sewing machine (yes, Bot-Grrl, i'm talking to YOU!!!). i'm always scared my finger will get sucked in...and that's it. lost my fingers! yes...har har har. it's funny. i was trying to use up a GC that a friend gave me...and i saw the HELLO KITTY SEWING MACHINE!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! so i WILL learn to sew. i figured...yes i have to have it. but it's a functional thing. ;) i need to sew in lining into felted bags and stuff. I need to learn how to sew scrubs. I need to learn how to sew pillow cases. hahahaha. i'm excited. i opened it and showed the girls at Simpatico. they all chuckled at me. hahaah.|W|P|112926575274544755|W|P|i have actuallly been knitting....|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/14/2005 08:10:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Wow, a Hello Kitty sewing machine . . . and it's a Janome, too (I've been told that it's a good make). He he, all the Hello Kitty stuff makes me giggle. I like it. Although, the dominoes do look tricky.
I have the (Doktor)Fish sock yarn, too, but I'm saving it for... SOCKS! (Yeah, I'm crazy like that I guess.)10/16/2005 06:20:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Purl had to completely rewrite the sweater pattern and it and all the corrections, I thought a surprising amount, are on their site. And that sewing machine? Seems like they have all been run out of town, huh? But what a good man. It makes me ashamed to think of what I would've done...probably just driven by (not honked though). Glad to hear you're OK and knitting. Perhaps your rescuer would appreciate a hand-knit item?
I still have plans to knit that dang cute cupcake hat....10/12/2005 11:18:00 PM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|OK. i'm wrong. Someone does like me. After evaluating my situation and seeing the damage done (and hearing the estimate), i realize someone (God) is really looking out for me. My friend Mario...well, Ex...who is still a good friend, came over on Mon. after work and he asked me how i was feeling. Then he broke down and kept saying how i could have been seriously hurt or killed that day. and he's right....im lucky. all i had was some bruises and a sore back. Cars can always be fixed. I, on the other hand, may not have been so lucky. *shudder* i can't think about that.
The man who helped me the other day...i was thinking about him all day today. Thinking..i should thank him w/ a gift or something. SOMETHING!!! i had mario call him just in case the guy felt more comfortable speaking in Spanish. (his ENglish wasn't the greatest...but he still spoke English pretty well)...to maybe get a mailing addres or something so i can send him a gift.
That man is an angel!!!
he said on the same highway that i had my accident..he was on it again today and he saw a lady get into an accident and spin out. i guess spinning on that hwy is common. So he jumped out of his truck to help her...she was stuck in the car and so was her little child. He got the kid and her out of the car safely and helped her call for help. Mario broke down while on the phone with him just thanking him for helping me and helping that lady out. He kept saying he doesn't do it for the thanks...he does it b/c he really wants to help. I didnt' even think people like that still existed. We were in shock.
It really opened my eyes. instead of just driving by the next time i see someone in need, i should stop and ask if they need help. Everyone just assumes someone else called the police, ambulance. It took the cops about 15 min to get to me that day. even as i was sitting in the left lane shaking and wondering what i should do....people were honking at me to get out of the way, giving me the finger b/c i was blocking the road. They were honking at that man for trying to clear a path for me to get my car on the shoulder...they could have hit him or killed him! but he didn't even think about that. he just wanted me to get on the other side where i would be out of harm's way. what has this world come to? people honking at a man who is trying to help someone in need!
Thank you, Mr.Ramirez. |W|P|112917723461664683|W|P|ok...i was hasty.|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/13/2005 08:09:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Oh man oh man, I didn't know there were people like that out there anymore either! Your Mr. Ramirez certainly is an angel. And I'm often amazed at the rudeness of people on the road -- I mean, come on! As if you could have gotten out of the way after a wreck like that! Sheesh!10/13/2005 01:42:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Sweet. Puts the 'human' back into humanity, eh? Perhaps you could knit him the Caution scarf from Magknits. Ya' know, so he might get a big more respect while he's helping on the hwy.
Still glad your all good. Life goes on...10/11/2005 12:01:00 AM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|i got into another car accident in my new ride today. and my Element is pretty banged up. i was on my way to school at like 630a. A big truck (like a 24' box truck) was trying to change lanes toward me...so he started to veer toward me. i tried to hit the brakes and swerve out of the way, which resulted in me losing control of the car in the rain. I hit the truck anyway, then spun around TWO TIMES in the middle of the highway....then hit the wall on the right side of the highway, bounced off that and almost hit the wall on the other side. as i was spinning, i saw all the cars behind me STOP and i just imagined...OMG..i'm going to get hit 3 times right now and be seriously injured. but w/ the grace of God....i didn't get hit again and i wasn't seriously injured. my back and shoudlers hurt...just like my last accident that was only TWO MONTHS AGO! i'm thankful i just have some bruises and such. it could have been so much worse.
I was lucky someone got out of his truck and asked if i was ok. he stopped traffic for me so i could move it out of the left and middle lane to the median so i wouldn't get hit again. i'm very thankful for his help. He was my angel today. he said he saw me spinning around and was praying i wouldn't get hit again. what's weird is that that truck i hit...he didn't even stop. so everyone thinks that he didn't even know that i hit him or whatever. sigh.
I called my parents and they freaked. the cops called a wrecker to help me out. so the wrecker took my car to the dealership where it's going to be fixed. The cops, wrecker and the dealership were all very positive and said it was just alot of cosmetic damage. they didn't see any horrible structural damage so far. so we'll see. i'm more embarrassed than anything. my ego is really bruised. and i'm pissed that i messed up my car! why me why me why meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
i'm glad i had my camera w/ me in my purse. i took pictures...now it looks worse than it is. like they all said..it's all cosmetic. i'm thankful i wasn't hurt. i could be dead right now...omg..that's a really scary thought.
i called my brother...he freaked. he's kind of mad he doesn't get to see it. haha. he is coming up this weekend and he wanted to see the new ride. man..i'm so pathetic.
sigh....why me why me. now i'm going to be scared to drive at all, esp in the rain. i'm just so retarded.
My friends have come to the conclusion (the wrecker guy came to it too) that my current tires are too skinny and my car is too top heavy for the tires....which is one of the reasons why i lost control So my friend, Dave, suggested that when i got the car, i should upgrade the tires to wider ones. i've been trying to be cheap about it and get cheaper tires on ebay...but i haven't had any luck winning any bids. When i revealed all this to my mom...she immediately goes "JUST GO GET NEW TIRES ASAP." sigh. i just didn't want to blow $1k on new tires for a car that already had decent tires.
I'm sad and don't want to drive tomorrow. I drove around today in a rental for about 30 min...and i drove like a freaking grandma. so slow and careful. sigh. i got a pimpin' minivan for a rental. hahaa it's so cool. it's got a dVD player in the back seat! whoo hooo!!|W|P|112900780824162000|W|P|What the F??? how is this possible?|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/11/2005 06:36:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|i'm glad you're okay! it looks and sounded scary.10/11/2005 09:03:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|Oh, jeez! Just to be sure. ;)10/13/2005 03:26:00 PM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|OMG - glad to hear you are ok!! you should get yourself checked tho - with the neck and shoulder pains. after an accident like that i would totally drive like a grandma for the next 6 months too!! I got check out by the doctor and i'm actually very ok. my neck is fine. my mid back is sore, but that's expected. i'm very thankful. i had some bruises on my feet and legs (weird i know). but yeah..i've been driving like a grandma. Watch out for the girl in the tan minivan rental. lol. she's SLOOOOOW10/09/2005 01:36:00 AM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|Today i was bad. I had a small small small piece of cake. For those of you who don't know..i've been commanded by my Jong Yee (Chinese herb doctor) to not consume ANY refined sugar (meaning..anything that isn't fruit)..and no starches. I've been somewhat naughty on the starches. it's hard to avoid bread when they serve it w/ your damn soup. but i don't eat like 1/100th of what i used to consume in starches. but i proudly admit the only sweet thing i had had was a piece of cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory. you can't say no!! and i've totally cut out sodas out of my life. :) even today w/ sherbert punch and sodas.....i was good and asked for water. shoot. i should have just gone all the way...soda, cake...SINNER.
so today i had a tiny piece of cake. man it was so freaking good. hahahaha
aren't they cute??
I've been working on a sample for Simpatico...a baby sweater from the Last Minute Knitted Gifts book out of opal sock yarn. pictures will be posted later.
I took alot of pics at my friend's bridal shower today. when i got home, i had a bad sugar crash (damn cake)...so i was laying in bed and my widdle baby came up to me and was snuggling. i had my camera on the bed w/ me b/c i was too lazy to put it in the other room. i grabbed it so i could take pics of her. I never get pics of her b/c she closes her eyes so fast. i had alot of sunlight in the room..so she kept her eyes open. LOOK AT HOW CUTE SHE IS!! don't overdose on the cuteness!!!@ hahaha

tomorrow is my friend's b-day. he's been bugging me to make him a hat. so today, after i got home and looked around for some yarn in my stash...i figured i would make him a hat, finally! so i started this about 4p...while watching the news. i finished at 9p. whooo-hooo!!! done done done.

My recipient never did email me and let me know that he got it...even though i sent an email like over a week ago asking how much he liked it since he didn't talk about it on their blog. i tried to do a little extra w/ the packaging and such. maybe i offended him. I also put a note in the package asking he email me and let me know he got it. so i'm thinking....either my recipient is unable to email anyone, ORRRRRRR ......he didn't like it and doesn't want to talk about it. so i'm kind of disappointed. I was hoping he liked it. sigh.
i would love to do another scarf exchange though. ;) even if my recipient hated their scarf! :(|W|P|112849740230054245|W|P|disappointment...|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com10/05/2005 07:56:00 AM|W|P|Anonymous|W|P|I'm sure he didn't hate it!!!
